Amalfi

The Amalfi Coast takes its name from this town, which was the first of the four Maritime Republics. Amalfi was considered a trade power on account of its trading with the East because of its natural outlet to the Valle dei Mulini. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by white houses set into the rock like diamonds, connected by evocative stairways and covered alleys. The most important place is the square where the Duomo di Sant’Andrea with the bell tower and the Chiostro del Paradiso are located.
